Season started with victory
Ljubljana, 9 March 2010 – The Adria Mobil Cycling Club presented its 2010 racing team to the public yesterday in ACH, d.d.'s conference room in Ljubljana, formally opening the 2010 cycling season. Cyclists had however already been informally christened two days earlier, with a double victory by Marko Kump and Matej Gnezda, winning the 144 km long race Trophy of the Association of Slovenian Sports Clubs in Italy, organised by the Adria Mobil Cycling Club.
The public presentation of the best Slovenian cycling team was attended by a large number of journalists, cycling officials and sponsors, including ACH, d.d. Sonja Gole, CEO of Adria Mobil, has also expressed her best wishes to the team for the upcoming season, saying: "Adria Mobil will continue to be with you!"
"Despite the difficult economic year in which the caravanning industry was among the first and the most powerfully affected, today we can say that we have together nevertheless managed to find a way out of the crisis. Despite the overall business volume being cut in half in the last year, we have managed to conclude it by improving our market position and increasing our market share. This was only possible by investing extremely heavy workload, knowledge, will and energy, proving that teamwork pays off – just as it pays off in team sports, where great individuals cannot achieve much unless backed-up by the team. Together we can and we want to achieve great things in 2010, that is, more and better than last year," said Sonja Gole. Mojca Novak, the President of the Adria Mobil Cycling Club, also addressed the present guests, among whom were CEO of ACH, d.d., mag. Herman Rigelnik with assistants, Director of Avto Triglav, d.o.o., Damijan Vuk, as well as numerous guests from Slovenia and Italy. After individual presentation of all team members, the Head Coach Milan Eržen expressed the ambitious plans of the team to win two medals at the World Championship in the Under 23 category. Such ambitious goals will be pursued by: Kristjan Fajt, Matej Gnezda, Pavel Gorenc, Aljaž Hočevar, Blaž Jarc, Marko Kump, Mitja Mahorič, Uroš Murn, Jani Mušič, Tomaž Nose, Marino Palandri and Jure Žagar.
